Justin Rose insists that he is capable of producing his best golf at The Open this week as he bids to win a second Major.

Justin Rose has claimed that his recent run of performances is not a cause for concern as he prepares for The Open.

The Englishman finished 12 shots behind winner Rickie Fowler in the Scottish Open at the weekend after shooting a 76 in the final round, but he insists that he is confident about making the minor adjustments which could put him in contention at St Andrews.

"I am happy about it. I have come into a few major championships hot on my game but it hasn't really produced a chance to win in the subsequent major so being a little less hyped potentially could be a good thing," Rose told reporters.

"I actually learnt a lot at the Scottish Open last week. My scores were terrible but I didn't play that badly so there was nothing for me to worry about.

"I identified a couple of things that I was doing wrong with my putting which is good because I can rectify that quickly – I know what the cause and effect is and it is easily fixed."

Rose missed the cut when The Open was last held at St Andrews in 2010.
