Ian Poulter has indicated that he will head into next week's British Open with the belief that he can win the tournament.
The Englishman finished in 50th place on the last occasion that the Open was played at Muirfield, but the world number 20 has revealed that he is a fan of the Scottish course.
The 37-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I like the golf course, I can remember a good chunk of it and I can also reflect on the good Opens that I have had as well so I'd like to think that my game is just tuning up nicely.
"I love links golf. I love taking some of the hybrids out of the bag and putting the long irons back in for the shot-making and running up onto some of those greens."
Poulter's best display at an Open Championship was second place in 2008.
