Tiger Woods claims that he worked from "sun-up to sun-down" to ensure that he would be ready to compete at The Masters.

Tiger Woods has claimed that he worked "sun-up to sun-down" in his quest to find form ahead of The Masters.

The four-time winner will return from a two-month hiatus at Augusta this week, and he admits that attempting to fix the issues which caused him problems earlier this year had left him frustrated on more than one occasion.

"I worked hard," Woods told reporters in his pre-tournament press conference. "People would never understand how much work I put into it to come back and do this again.

"It was sun-up to sun-down, and whenever I had free time. If the kids were asleep, I'd still be doing it, and then when they were in school, I'd still be doing it. So it was a lot of work.

"There were times when there were a few clubs that flew, suddenly slipped out of my hand and travelled some pretty good distances, too. There were some frustrating moments, but I had to stick with it."

Woods will play alongside Jimmy Walker and Jamie Donaldson in the first two rounds.
