Sergio Garcia reportedly makes a jibe offering to serve Tiger Woods a dinner of "fried chicken" during next month's US Open at last night's European Tour awards dinner.

Sergio Garcia has continued his feud with Tiger Woods by referencing the American with a risque insult at last night's European Tour awards dinner in London.

Woods angered Garcia at the Players Championship earlier this month by removing a club from his bag just before the Spaniard was about to play a shot.

Garcia blames Woods for distracting him and the crowd at Sawgrass, with neither player willing to apologise as their war of words continues.

While asked by the Golf Channel's Steve Sands if he would have the American round for dinner one night during the upcoming US Open Garcia reportedly replied: "We will have him round every night. We will serve fried chicken."

Later that evening Garcia issued an apology for the remark via the European Tour's website, which read: "I apologise for any offence that may have been caused by my comment on stage during the European Tour Players' Awards dinner.

"I answered a question that was clearly made towards me as a joke with a silly remark, but in no way was the comment meant in a racist manner."

Garcia will be in action at Wentworth later this week as the entire winning European Ryder Cup side take part in the BMW PGA Championship.
