Jason Dufner has edged past Jim Furyk to claim his maiden major title at the US PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club.
Dufner trailed Furyk by a single shot going into the final round, but soon moved ahead of his playing partner with birdies at the fourth, fifth and eighth holes.
Furyk stayed in contention with a solid round featuring few errors, with Swedish duo Henrik Stenson and Jonas Blixt leading the chasing pack.
With the pressure on Dufner held his composure as his rivals faltered, despite breaking a run of 26 consecutive holes without a bogey at the 17th.
The 36-year-old produced a controlled back nine to lead by two shots from Furyk at the final hole, clinching his first major championship with a final round of 68 two years after losing a final playoff in the same tournament.
