Lynne Hutchison has admitted that the thought of a Commonwealth Games medal in the rhythmic gymnastics ribbon final has crossed her mind.

The 19-year-old will have one last shot at a Glasgow medal in the final rhythmic event of the Games tomorrow morning, four years after she won bronze in Delhi in the team event.

Hutchison finished 12th in the individual all-around final this afternoon and caught up with Sports Mole after her final rotation.

"I wasn't aiming for a medal today," she said. "I would have had to perform really well. I'm not disappointed that I wasn't near the medals, that's not what I was aiming for.

"Tomorrow I've got the ribbon final and that's been going well here. I really want to put everything that I've got left into that."

Hutchison qualified for the ribbon final with the second-best score but isn't getting ahead of herself.

"[Winning a medal] has crossed my mind, but you never know what's going to happen," she added. "People could have made mistakes in qualifying and they might all go clean in the final.

"I didn't come into this competition expecting a medal individually, but after [coming second in qualification] I'll really push it.

"If I repeat what I did in qualification and that's not good enough [for a medal] I'll still be happy."

Hutchison agonisingly missed out on a second straight team medal by coming fourth alongside Stephani Sherlock and Mimi-Isabella Cesar in yesterday's final.
