Uzbek artistic gymnast Luiza Galiulina has been officially expelled from the Olympics after her B sample also tested positive for the banned substance furosemide.
Galiulina was on Sunday suspended from competition pending analysis of her B sample, and the International Olympic Committee have confirmed that she has now been sent home from the Games.
"The athlete's file shall be transmitted to the International Gymnastics Federation, which is requested to consider any further action within its own competence," Reuters quotes the IOC as saying.
Galiulina joins eight female badminton players who were also sent home today.
