Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola has revealed that his side decided to travel to London a day earlier than initially planned in order to avoid being caught up in traffic.
The Bundesliga giants landed in the English capital on Sunday evening ahead of their Champions League showdown with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.
Having made the trip many times in the past, Bayern decided to fly well in advance of kickoff in order to avoid the players being stuck on transport in the 24 hours leading up to the game.
Speaking to German publication Kicker, Guardiola confirmed: "A journey from the Sabener Strasse to the hotel in London would take five to six hours because of all the traffic jams in London. That would mean that on the day before the game, we'd spend a lot of time in the coach and on the plane."
Bayern top the Group F table with two wins from two, while opponents Arsenal have yet to register a point.
