Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has laughed off a "ridiculous" theory that high-profile people die after he scores a goal.
Coincidentally, al-Quadea founder Osama bin Laden, Apple co-creator Steve Jobs, singer Whitney Houston and Libyan politician Colonel Gaddafi all died shortly after Ramsey scored over the course of a year.
Fans joked that Ramsey was responsible due to the timing of his goals against Manchester United, Marseille, Sunderland and Tottenham Hotspur.
In an interview with talkSPORT's Sport magazine, Ramsey said: "The most ridiculous rumour I've heard is that people die after I score.
"There have been loads of occasions where I've scored and somebody has died. It's just a crazy rumour. Although I took out some baddies!"
Ramsey failed to find the back of the net for Arsenal in last weekend's 2-0 defeat to West Ham United.
