La Liga newcomers Leganes welcomed city neighbours Atletico Madrid to their Butarque stadium yesterday with a basket of cucumbers.
The Spanish minnows are known locally as Los Pepineros, or 'the cucumber-growers', and have what they claim to be the best cucumbers in the division.
According to Marca, Leganes will welcome every visiting team with their own basket of vegetables as they celebrate their first spell in the top flight of Spanish football in their 88-year history.
Leganes - promoted automatically from the Segunda Division last term as runners-up - went on to hold Atletico to a goalless draw, leaving them with four points from a possible six and third in the nascent La Liga table.
The club made headlines earlier this summer when they unveiled a "world-first" playing shirt that smells and tastes of freshly-cut grass.
