Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund have installed a lighting system at their home ground which provides 'artificial sunlight' to the pitch.

The German club's Signal Iduna Park is believed to have installed the hi-tech system in order to keep the grass in the best condition.

The ground was covered in these lights in order to prepare the pitch for the resumption of the season in Germany, according to the Daily Mail.

Dortmund are believed to have introduce the lights due to the Sudtribune terrace, which blocks out natural light from the pitch.
