Wayne Rooney has reportedly decided to have a panic bunker built in the grounds of his new mansion.
The footballer's £6m Cheshire home was targeted in 2016 by a burglar, an incident which caused much distress to wife Colleen.
According to The Sun, Rooney wants the outbuilding built near the entrance of the luxury £20m mansion in a bid to increase security.
The report claims that the bunker will feature basic amenities for a guard as well as a CCTV room and turf-covered roof for a more discreet, inconspicuous look.
Rooney has also reportedly applied to build a higher wall, and council officials will make a decision over the planning applications in September.
The former England and Manchester United captain will be splitting his time between the UK and America after signing for MLS club DC United.
