England are allegedly in a strong position to fare well in the bidding process for Euro 2028.

Wembley Stadium has been in the headlines for the wrong reasons in recent months, the latest incident occurring on Tuesday evening as Hungarian supporters clashed with police during a World Cup qualifier in North London.

However, according to The Sun, the Football Association are well placed to launch a strong bid for Euro 2028.

UEFA have officially started the process of determining who will host the tournament in seven years time with certain criteria needing to be met by any interested nations.

A final decision will not be made until September 2023, but England already fulfil the requirements regarding the capacity of stadiums needing to be made available.

Russia and Italy are expected to be among the other nations who will lodge a proposal for the competition. body check tags ::
