England cricketers Matt Prior and Stuart Broad managed to talk down a man preparing to jump off a bridge in Sydney on Tuesday night.
The pair are said to have spotted the man on their way to the team hotel following a Barmy Army event organised to raise money for the Broad Appeal.
According to The Telegraph, Prior helped pull the man away from the edge of the Darling Harbour bridge and stayed talking to him, along with Broad, for almost an hour before New South Wales police arrived to take over.
"We just did what anybody would do in that situation," Prior told the newspaper. "We were trying to help a bloke who was struggling and in a bad way."
Broad wrote on Twitter today: "@MattPrior13 is a best friend of mine and I'm very proud of him. It was a tough situation but so glad he was there."
