Harlequins star Ugo Monye has joined PETA's 'Ink, Not Mink' campaign in a bid to encourage people not to wear real fur.

Harlequins star Ugo Monye has joined PETA's latest campaign against animal cruelty by encouraging people not to wear real fur clothing.

The England international will feature in the organisation's ad campaign 'Ink, Not Mink' by bearing his tattooed torso and speaking out against the suffering of animals.

"Animals used for fur sometimes have their skin ripped off them while they're still alive – that's not okay," said Monye. "I hope that by being a part of the 'Ink, Not Mink' campaign, I'm encouraging fans not to wear real fur because that's the only way this cruelty is going to stop."

Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard, England cricketer Jade Dernbach and Sale Sharks fly-half Danny Cipriani are also among the sportsmen who have given their backing to PETA's campaign.
