Former Liverpool stars Pepe Reina and Xabi Alonso have reaffirmed their support for the Merseyside club by meeting up and watching the Reds play on TV.

Alonso spent five years at Anfield before joining Real Madrid in 2009, while Reina called an end to his eight-year spell in 2013.

Both Spaniards now play for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, but they took time out together on Sunday to watch Liverpool's 2-0 victory over Southampton at St Mary's.

Reina tweeted a picture of the two watching the game, with the message: "Once a red..."
