Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was among a group of people who were forced to stay behind at the Volkswagen Arena due to a suspect package on Tuesday night.
The Scotsman, along with former United chief executive David Gill, was at the stadium in Germany to watch the Red Devils take on Wolfsburg in the Champions League.
According to PA, spectators in the VIP area had to wait 15 minutes as police looked over a suspicious package, but were eventually allowed to leave once the authorities were satisfied that it was not a bomb.
The package is said to have been found in a car park outside of the ground during United's 3-2 defeat to Wolfsburg.
