Manchester United have reportedly warned their season-ticket holders that if they do not buy tickets for the FA Cup replay against Cambridge United, then they will be banned from attending the Sunderland game on February 28.
Around 9,000 season-ticket holders have been issued with the warning ahead of the fourth-round replay, which is scheduled for Tuesday night next week at Old Trafford.
The League Two side forced through the fixture by holding the Red Devils to a goalless draw at the Abbey Stadium last Friday.
This week, season-ticket holders received a letter stating that they had until 8pm on Wednesday night to purchase their seats.
The Guardian quotes the letter as saying: "Please note that not buying this ticket will result in your season ticket being suspended for the Sunderland game."
A United spokesperson told the newspaper that this system has been in place for years.
