A report claims that Manchester United could groundshare with Manchester City if the Red Devils continue with plans to redevelop their Old Trafford home.

Manchester City will reportedly consider groundsharing with Manchester United if their rivals push ahead with plans to redevelop Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are currently weighing up the pros and cons of extending the Sir Bobby Charlton stand, which managing director Richard Arnold has described as "a very complex engineering challenge".

Should United chiefs give the green light for construction work to begin, the club could be left without a home for at least one season.

According to The Sun, Man City may offer to help out by allowing United to play at the Etihad Stadium if they are willing to meet the high rent costs.

The clubs previously shared City's old Maine Road home for eight years after Stretford was bombed during the Second World War in 1941.
