Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho refused to conduct a pre-match press conference in Beijing today after discovering that the media room had no air conditioning.
More than 100 journalists were crammed into a 50-capacity press room at Beijing's Olympic Sports Centre on Sunday afternoon, pushing the indoor temperature to more than 40C, according to The Mirror.
Mourinho refused to enter the room due to the heat and instead ordered the journalists down to pitchside, where he fielded questions for 10 minutes before taking a training session with his squad.
Manchester City counterpart Pep Guardiola had earlier conducted his own press conference in the same room that Mourinho rejected, although fewer journalists were in attendance for the morning presser.
United and City will meet at Beijing's Bird Nest Stadium on Monday for the first Manchester derby outside of the UK.
