Manchester United and England captain Wayne Rooney has revealed that he shows his romantic side to wife Coleen by writing her poems.
The 29-year-old, who has been with Coleen since the pair were teenagers, opened up about their relationship during new BBC documentary Wayne Rooney: The Man Behind The Goals.
The striker admitted that he would regularly write poetry for his other half when they first got together, and despite admitting that his love notes have since "died down", Coleen revealed in the documentary that he left one on her pillow during a recent family holiday.
"I used to love writing poems, even before I was with Coleen," said Rooney. "I don't know why, I used to like to write little stories too. So when I first got with Coleen I used to write her lots of poems. They have died down a bit of late."
Wayne and Coleen are parents to sons Kai, five, and two-year-old Klay, and the couple are expecting another baby early next year.
