Moroccan boxer Hassan Saada has been arrested by police over allegations that he sexually assaulted two female cleaners in the Athletes' Village at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
A Brazilian judge has reportedly ruled that the 22-year-old, who was due to begin his campaign in the light-heavyweight division on Saturday, will remain in custody for 15 days.
According to local reports, Saada tried to kiss one of the maids after pushing her against a wall, and is also alleged to have squeezed the breast of the second cleaner and made lewd hand gestures at her.
It is believed that the boxer has been detained due to concerns that he would reoffend or try to flee the country.
The opening ceremony will be held at the Maracana Stadium tonight.
