The Napoli supporter who was shot during unsavoury scenes before the Coppa Italia final in May has died.
Rome's Gemelli Hospital has confirmed that 29-year-old Ciro Esposito has passed away after he was shot in the chest during a fight just hours before Napoli's 3-1 victory over Fiorentina.
A 48-year-old Roma supporter was charged with attempted murder after the incident, which left Mr Esposito in a critical condition in hospital.
The mayor of Naples Luigi de Magistris wrote on Twitter: "Ciro is dead and in Naples, we proclaim a state of civic mourning."
The incident caused conflict between supporters who were situated inside the Olympic Stadium during the match.
