The team masseur for Brazilian side Aparecidence has received threatening phone calls after preventing a Tupi winning goal during a Serie D quarter-final clash.
Ramildo Fonesca secured his team's place in the semi-finals by entering the field of play and stopping two shots to keep the scoreline level at 2-2, gifting Aparecidence a spot in the final four on away goals rule.
After saving his team, the masseur, who was chased by Tupi fans, has revealed that he could not leave the changing room for three hours.
"They're calling my home and threatening my family," Fonesca told the Brazilian press, according to 101greatgoals.com.
"They said I will not get out alive from this. Also threatening my children. My wife and kids have also called me crying saying they are worried about my life."
Reports have claimed that Tupi are looking into taking legal action in order to have the result overturned.
