Plans for the redevelopment of Don Valley Stadium, where Olympic gold-medallist Jessica Ennis trains, are due to be revealed tomorrow.
The £29m stadium in Sheffield will be closed and demolished as part of council budget cuts after it was ruled that keeping the facility open would be financially unsustainable.
However, former sports minister Richard Caborn will outline the new plans for the site tomorrow, with the ex-Labour MP promising to continue the legacy of last year's Olympics.
"The briefing will outline what will be a comprehensive approach to delivering the biggest Olympic legacy project outside of London," said Caborn.
Ennis has declared her disappointment at the closing of the Don Valley Stadium.
