Formula 1 and the sporting world in general have been rocked by the news that Michael Schumacher is fighting for his life.

The seven-time F1 champion was airlifted to a French hospital yesterday after he hit his head on rocks while skiing.

Initial reports had suggested that the German had only suffered minor injuries, but a statement this morning from his doctor, Professor Payen, revealed that the 44-year-old is in a critical condition.
