David Beckham has become the centre of a long-running political tax dispute in France following his move to Paris Saint-Germain.
The former England captain revealed that his proposed salary, which is thought to be £170,000 a week, will go to a children's charity, which means that the midfielder will be exempt from paying the controversial 75% tax on the rich.
The law in France states that the football union need to pay the minimum wage in order to pay relevant charges, including national insurance, to the government, but as this results in less than £2,000 a week, Beckham avoids paying tax, according to the Daily Mail.
The ex-Manchester United star also confirmed that his family would remain in London over his five-month stay in Paris, therefore claiming that his main residence is in the UK.
