David Beckham jokes that he wants to take the hosting role on Match of the Day from Gary Lineker.

David Beckham has joked that he wants to take Gary Lineker's role on football highlights and analysis show Match of the Day.

The BBC programme is currently fronted by ex-Tottenham Hotspur forward Lineker but Beckham, who recently penned a five-month contract at Paris Saint-Germain, believes that he could do the same job as the 52-year-old.

In a Q&A session via H&M's Twitter feed, Lineker asked: "Even your football career will end some day. Post playing would you consider a punditry role on MOTD?"

Beckham replied: "Haha, if it's your job then yes, as you always seem to be on the beach."

During the session, Beckham also revealed that his new pink boots were chosen as an homage to his one-year-old daughter.
