Real Madrid legend Alfredo di Stefano is currently in a "critical but stable condition" after suffering a heart attack.
News broke earlier today that the former Los Blacnos striker, who scored 216 league goals in 282 appearances for the Spanish club, had been rushed to hospital where he was said to be in a serious condition.
"The patient Alfredo di Stéfano, aged 88, was transferred to the Gregorio Marañón general university hospital after suffering a cardiorespiratory arrest when not in the hospital, from which he was resuscitated by the emergency services," an updated medical report read.
"The patient is currently sedated, tracheally intubated and on a ventilator in the Coronary Unit, and the relevant clinical tests are being carried out. The patient's clinical and haemodynamic condition is critical but stable."
Di Stefano was named as honorary president of Real Madrid in 2000.
