David Ginola has moved to ease concerns over his personal health by revealing that he is "fine" after being taken ill on Thursday evening.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United midfielder is believed to have suffered a heart attack following a football event in France.
There was confusion over Ginola's state overnight, however, with one eyewitness claiming in the French media that the 49-year-old was placed into a coma.
Ginola has now taken to Twitter to confirm that he is recovering well, but provided no further details on his current condition.
Ginola also had spells with Aston Villa and Everton during his seven-year stay in the English top flight.
