Robbie Savage has laughed off an extract in Roy Keane's new autobiography which mocks the former Leicester City player's answer phone message.
The ex-Manchester United captain wrote in The Second Half that while he was Sunderland manager he decided not to sign Savage because his answer phone message welcomed callers by saying: "Whazzup!".
Keane wrote: "I got Robbie's mobile number and rang him. It went to his voicemail: 'Hi, it's Robbie – whazzup!' like the Budweiser ad. I never called him back. I thought: 'I can't be fucking signing that.'
On Twitter, Savage responded to the extract by clarifying that he chose Derby County over Sunderland because they offered him more money and he did not want to move house.
He added: "I love Roy's story of my answering machine !!!! Hi it's robbie .... Whatsupppp ... I'm not signing that !!"
Keane's autobiography is released tomorrow.
