Huddersfield Giants hooker Kyle Wood has been sidelined for the rest of the season with a broken foot.
The 26-year-old suffered the injury during his side's 14-12 win over Catalans Dragons in Super League on Saturday.
Meanwhile, teammate Brett Ferres could also miss the remainder of the campaign after tearing his biceps in the same match. The England international is due to undergo tests to determine the extent of the damage.
"[Wood] suffered multiple fractures in his foot and will undergo surgery later this week to have it plated and wired. He'll then have the wires taken out later on and should only miss the first couple of weeks of the next pre-season," coach Paul Anderson is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.
Huddersfield continue their Super League campaign on Sunday when they host Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.
