Huddersfield Giants produced a performance worthy of the playoffs in their 24-12 victory over Catalans Dragons, according to coach Paul Anderson.
In difficult conditions in West Yorkshire, the Giants produced a three-try burst 10 minutes before half time to take the game away from the French side.
"This wasn't a game for fancy, free-flowing football," Anderson told reporters.
"This was a game for turning the opposition round and making them come off their own line, which is what you need to do in playoff football, and that's what we also did well.
"Apart from conceding that very soft try right at the end, I also thought we defended very well and worked hard for each other."
The win moved Huddersfield back into the top four thanks to their superior points difference compared to Castleford Tigers.
