Chris Chester: 'Hull KR confident of avenging heavy Wigan Warriors defeat'

Chris Chester says that Hull KR's decision to alter their travel plans prior to tonight's clash against Wigan Warriors shows just how much they want to win the Challenge Cup.

Hull Kingston Rovers coach Chris Chester has called on his players to bounce back from their thrashing by Wigan Warriors a fortnight ago and repay the club's board.

The Robins fell to a 60-0 defeat at the DW Stadium in the Super League, although attention is now firmly fixed on cup competition.

Just two weeks on from the embarrassing reverse against Wigan, Hull take on the same opponents this evening with a Challenge Cup quarter-final place on the line, and Chester is hoping that a change of routine will help improve his side's fortunes.

"We wanted to try something different and hopefully, keeping the players together will make a difference," he is quoted as saying by the Hull Daily Mail.

"We stayed over last night and trained over here too so we'll go into the game confident. We've travelled on the day of the match and gone to games early, but we've not been able to get a win away from Hull in the league and we're exploring all avenues.

"It shows the intention of the club and it's a sign of the board wanting to do well in the Challenge Cup. The board have been great this season and everything we have asked for, we've got. We need to repay them for that."

Hull last reached the last eight of the competition back in 2011.
