Hull Kingston Rovers coach Craig Sandercock has admitted that his side's 22-14 win over St Helens in the Super League was not the prettiest of the season.
Rovers, who are up to eighth place in the table, edged out their opponents at New Craven Park on Sunday to record their sixth victory of the season.
"I'm very pleased with the efforts of the players although it wasn't pretty," Sandercock told Sky Sports News.
"We didn't execute as well as we would have liked. But it was a very gritty performance.
"The boys defended really well and showed the effort and commitment needed to play first grade rugby league."
Hull continue their campaign next Sunday when they travel to second-placed Huddersfield Giants.
