Josh Mantellato claimed a 22-point haul to help Hull Kingston Rovers to a 34-12 victory over Halifax RLFC in the Super League Qualifiers.
The 28-year-old crossed over with four minutes played to get the hosts off the mark, before Tyrone McCarthy added a second to create some early breathing space.
Fax were able to hit back through Dave Manning's try, however, which Steve Tyrer converted to drag his side back into the contest.
A second from Mantellato right on the brink of half time, coming after he had split the sticks with a penalty, ensured that Hull regained control heading into the break.
The Italy winger was at it again 12 minutes after the restart, touching down for a hat-trick of tries and duly converting for the second time to make it 22-6.
Halifax, who languish in the lower reaches of the division, pulled a second try back 12 minutes from time through Tyrer, but it was not enough to overcome the Robins as Ken Sio and Kris Welham rounded things off at the death with a couple of well-worked tries.
