Leeds Rhinos coach Brian McDermott has praised his players for putting in an improved second-half performance to beat Hull Kingston Rovers in Super League.
The Rhinos saw off a spirited Hull side 36-16 at Headingley Carnegie on Friday night to keep their lead at the top of the table.
While giving the visitors credit for their dogged display, McDermott believes that his team came away as deserved winners in the end.
"That's one thing I'm pleased about," he told Sky Sports News. "There was a fair difference in our energy levels in the second half. We played more direct. We started the game reasonably well but I've got to give Hull KR credit, I didn't expect them to be as energetic."
Leeds continue their Super League campaign on May 30 when they host Wigan Warriors.
