Kevin Sinfield has sustained a thumb injury during England's 30-10 win over the Exiles.
The Leeds Rhinos captain was substituted at half time during the World Cup warm-up match in Warrington last night.
The 32-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I'm not that sure but I'll see the surgeon over the weekend. We think it's dislocated at the moment.
"At this stage I don't see how I can play [in Leeds's match against Widnes Vikings on Monday]. I think it will need some sort of operation but I will see what the surgeon says."
Sinfield is the all-time top points scorer for the Rhinos.
