Veteran prop Adrian Morley has described Salford Red Devils' 70-6 drubbing by Leeds Rhinos as "embarrassing" and "disgraceful".
Morley, who started his career with the Rhinos in 1995, was sent to the sin bin during the first half of the defeat for a high tackle on Rob Burrow.
The 38-year-old, who is expected to retire at the end of the season, told the Manchester Evening News: "It was embarrassing for the boys and we've done a bit of soul-searching since.
"Some of the boys did put their hand up and accepted it wasn't a performance befitting of a Super League side. It was disgraceful at times."
The Red Devils were 40-0 down at half time, and conceded 13 tries over the 80 minutes.
In the final game of the regular season before the Super 8s, Salford travel to Widnes Vikings, where a win could see them climb to ninth.
