A late drop goal from Marc Sneyd helped Salford City Reds to a 21-20 win over Huddersfield Giants in the Super League this afternoon.
The hosts made a quick start, as Lee Gaskell and Jodie Broughton both crossed the whitewash early on.
The Giants fought back, as Shaun Lunt and Jermaine Gillvary added tries, while Ashley Gibson scored a third for Salford in a high-scoring first half.
Jordan James helped extend Salford's lead at the start of the second half, but Craig Kopczak and Danny Brough hit back, levelling the scores.
Sneyd edged the Reds ahead inside the last 10 minutes with a drop goal, which was enough to secure a single-point victory for the home team.
The result lifts Salford off the bottom of the Super League table.
