Toulon duo Matt Giteau and Drew Mitchell have been included in Australia's extended 40-man training squad for the upcoming Rugby Championship.
The pair have been recalled under the new foreign policy rule, following more than three years out in the cold.
There is also a place in the Wallabies fold for Waratahs and Exeter Chiefs lock Dean Mumm, who had previously been overlooked since 2012.
Australia, who face South Africa in their opening game on July 18, have watered down their refusal to select overseas-based players, allowing those who have been capped 60 or more times to be selected regardless of where they play their club rugby.
