Bath returned to winning ways at the Rec this afternoon, beating Sale Sharks to consign them to their fifth straight defeat of the new season.
Sixteen points from the boot of Olly Barkley, a penalty try, and tries from Dave Wilson and Stuart Hooper were enough for Bath to record an easy victory over Sale.
Sale were punished for their indiscipline by the boot of Barkley, playing in his last game for the club as he leaves for France to take up his role at Racing Metro as a medical joker.
Prop Dave Wilson crashed over for the hosts in the second half, before centre Jonny Leota gave Sale a glimmer of hope when he crossed the whitewash.
It was Bath, however, that finished the stronger of the two sides, captain Stuart Hooper driving over from short range before they were awarded a penalty try at the scrum in the last minute. Barkley slotted the conversion with his last kick for the club.
Sale had previously been reduced to 14 men after Powell was sent to the sinbin for a high tackle.
