Former Wales international Gavin Henson has joined Bristol Rugby with immediate effect after agreeing an early release from Bath.
The 33-year-old centre signed a one-year deal to move to Ashton Gate in the summer, but the Championship side have managed to bring forward his arrival.
Henson, who has not featured for Bath since September, trained with his new side on Wednesday and could be in contention to play "in the near future".
"We thank Bath for their co-operation in this matter and agreeing to Gavin's early release," director of rugby Andy Robinson told Bristol's official website.
"Once he has integrated into our squad, Gavin will be considered for selection and we look forward to seeing him in a Bristol jersey in the near future."
The 2005 British and Irish Lion has represented five different clubs since the last of his Wales caps in 2011.
