London Wasps came from 10-0 down to force a 13-13 draw against Bayonne is this evening's Challenge Cup fixture.
Jacques-Louis Potgieter opened the scoring for the hosts with a penalty in the 25th minute after a largely uneventful start to the evening.
Wasps spent much of the first period on the back foot, and they finally caved under the pressure on the stroke of half time when winger Marvin O'Connor found a way through on the right and Potgieter converted to make it 10-0.
The visiting supporters had to wait until the second half to see their team put some points on the board, with Nick Robinson slotting home a penalty to make it 10-3.
Wasps fought back just before the hour mark with a superb try from Christian Wade to make it 10-8, but Robinson missed the conversion.
The French side stretched their lead to 13-8 with a 68th-minute Potgieter penalty, but Phil Swainston's try in the 73rd minute drew Wasps level and left the hosts stunned.
With the conversions going begging, there was all to play for in the closing stages, but both defences held tight to ensure the game finished in a draw.
