British and Irish Lions team doctor James Robson has revealed that Jamie Roberts and Tommy Bowe are both major doubts to face Australia at the weekend.
The Welshman limped off with a hamstring strain during the tourists' 47-17 win over the Waratahs on Saturday and is a "grave doubt" for the Test series opener with the Wallabies later this week.
While England centre Manu Tuilagi is making good progress from a shoulder problem, Robson admits that Bowe is likely to miss out as well after fracturing a bone in his hand.
"Jamie's very well this morning, his scans indicate one thing, his demeanour another [but] he is a 'grave doubt' for this weekend," said Robson.
"You only had to see how much discomfort he was in at the weekend. However, further assessment will be made later in the week as to his availability going forward.
"Jamie Roberts is not likely to be available [for Saturday], Tommy Bowe is highly unlikely but that was never the plan, other than that everyone else is in line."
The Lions face the Brumbies on Tuesday at 10.40am.
