Jonny Wilkinson has said that he is willing to discuss joining up with the British and Irish Lions squad in Australia.
The fly-half will have an injection on a groin problem that he aggravated in Toulon's 19-14 Top 14 final defeat to Castres on Saturday.
But having initially rejected a place on the tour, the 34-year-old seems to be trying to reignite a conversation with Lions coach Warren Gatland.
"If Warren wants to call me about joining up with the Lions, I will happily have that conversation with him," Wilkinson said.
"It always feels worse when you've just lost a big game. And I don't even know if Warren still wants me, but I'm certainly not going to rule anything out."
One of his rivals would be fellow Englishman Owen Farrell, who was involved in a punch-up with club teammate Schalk Brits during the Lions tour opener against the Barbarians in Hong Kong.
