Canada rugby sevens captain John Moonlight has admitted that his side need to iron out the mistakes in their game in time for the Olympic qualifiers.
Canada will take part in the Pan American Games in Toronto next year before looking to make it to Rio in 2016, where rugby sevens will make its first appearance at an Olympics.
The North Americans failed to make it into the medal rounds of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, finishing third in Group A behind holders New Zealand and hosts Scotland, and Moonlight acknowledged that his side will need to improve in the future.
"Every tournament we go into we're looking to win," Moonlight told Sports Mole.
"Sometimes things don't go your way, a couple of small mistakes, and that's something we're going to have to clean up because right after this we're going right into the next series, so we've got to be ready for that. For the Olympic qualification we've got to be flying."
Canada will face Uganda in the bowl semi-finals at Ibrox this afternoon having beaten Trinidad and Tobago 33-0 earlier today.
