Cardiff Blues survived a strong second-half performance by the Glasgow Warriors to secure a 29-20 win in the Heineken Cup this evening.
The home side surged ahead early on through a Rhys Patchell try, while Leigh Halfpenny extended their advantage with a couple of penalties, opening up a 16-0 lead.
Sean Maitland powered over just before the break to get the Scottish team on the board, while a series of kicks from Duncan Weir moved Glasgow to within six points of their opponents inside the last 20 minutes.
Alex Cuthbert appeared to seal the win for the hosts eight minutes from full time, unleashing his pace to burst through a hole in the Warriors' defence, before Leone Nakarawa drew the visitors close again with less than two minutes left to play, but there was not enough time left for the Scots to score again.
The win moves Cardiff to the top of Pool 2, while Glasgow slip to the bottom.
