England head coach Stuart Lancaster has revealed that Courtney Lawes and Dylan Hartley are both in contention to face South Africa on Saturday despite suffering concussion against New Zealand.
The pair are due to undergo cognitive tests on Thursday ahead of the clash with the Springboks at Twickenham Stadium.
Despite doubts over their fitness, Lancaster expects the duo to be fully fit and available for selection when he names his team on Thursday.
"We will have provision should they fail that but we are optimistic will be available for the team," he is quoted as saying by The Telegraph. "They need to train on Thursday to be ready for me."
Meanwhile, Dave Attwood, Semesa Rokoduguni and Kyle Eastmond are all struggling to be fit for the weekend.
