New England head coach Eddie Jones says that he is yet to make a decision about his coaching team, but will hold talks with the current staff.

New England head coach Eddie Jones has admitted that he is yet to make a decision on who he will work alongside in the coaching team.

The Australian was appointed as Stuart Lancaster's successor on Friday morning, signing a four-year contract.

Some reports have claimed that the current set-up of Andy Farrell, Graham Rowntree and Mike Catt will be dismissed, with Steve Borthwick, who worked alongside Jones in the Japan team, thought to be appointed.

However, Jones has not made any calls on the coaching staff and intends to hold talks with the team that remains in place following Lancaster's departure.

"Stuart Lancaster has left a fantastic legacy and we've got a great platform to build on to 2019," Jones told reporters in today's press conference. "I've literally only started the job today but I woke up early - I was up at 4am.

"In terms of the coaching staff, I start on December 1 and I'll assess who's here and what they can offer going forward. If they can help what I'm doing here then they've got a job, and if not then I'll bring someone in. I won't know until I talk to them."

Jones's first game in charge will be England's Six Nations opener against Scotland at Murrayfield on February 6.
